Curanderas De Luna

Curanderas De Luna

Curanderas De Luna is a fierce femme collective that creates programming surrounding healing bodies from the inside out for and by the BIPOC community. In a series spread across twelve months, Curanderas de Luna will intentionally host Healing Mercaditos and workshops integrated with healing practices, lunar phases influences, indigenous rituals, eastern medicine and artistic guidance.

We welcome all, and have created these programs for our Black and Brown communities in the immediate and surrounding areas, with opportunities for sliding scale and free programs.

This is a kultura dyad collaboration with Pure Love Boutique y Botánica and With Rain & Shine, supported by HAVEN Boxing.

In Eastern Medicine the five elements have an association with different aspects of our body and nature. The five elements are connected in a cycle of creation, destruction and transformation. In this Workshop we will be introducing the Metal element which is associated with the Fall season and the Lungs, the main organs of the respiratory system. As well as introducing the Water element in association with Winter Season and the Kidneys. Together we will learn how to take care for our bodies and make way for a smooth transition during the change of seasons.

Natalia (creator and founder of Pure Love Boutique y Botanica), will guide you through Qi-Qong movements that will support your Lungs during the Fall and Winter season as well as introduce you to acupressure points that will help transform grief and help restore balance for our overall well being.

Stephanie (herbalist and founder of With Rain and Shine), will provide insight of the spiritual background to herbal remedies, and will provide an elixir that offers protection for our lungs, and helps move through grief. In order to cultivate an environment where trauma can be released; rosemary and peppermint will be diffused and also discussed.

Jeanette (writer and founder/curator for kultura dyad), will guide students through a discussion and freeform writing workshop exploring grief and its trauma through prose and a sharing of oral stories. Students will be provided a small blank notebook, and a pen (to keep). Students are welcome to bring whatever supplies necessary. Please note that there will be group tables to work at, not individual desks. No experience necessary, and all writing levels welcome. Disponible en Español tambien.

Come with open hearts and minds, and we hope to leave you with a better acceptance of grief.
